i think many songs are overplayed.
but this one just sounds bad. there was a jai ho version with john legend. that was really awesome. but unfortunately legend only performed it for the Oscars with Rahman.

Aw, happy birthday to HIM too!

  8. Hey there Abeer, here I am a random stranger complimenting your blog.

I have only been following your blog for a few weeks now but I must say that I have never been this entertained in my life. Your ideas flow very well. You have got a great talent in writing. You're blog is my inspiration now Abeer. Really! Why is it that only Indian authors can successfully incorporate humour into their writings? Speaking of Indian authors, I am sure you have heard of Chetan Bhagat and his International best-seller One Night at the Call Centre? That was the best book I have read thus far. I am looking forward for you to come up with your own book one day. But no rush, make sure you take your own sweet time. This is a humblest request from your fan here.=))
Just so you know, there are many souls on this planet earth who are suffering from depression, mental illnesses, family problems and whatnot. Pharmaceutical pills seem to alleviate the symptoms however the main illness still persists. But, a good laughter can help to fasten the healing process. As they say, laughter is a good medicine. That laughter can as well come from reading a quality piece of humorous literature like that of yours.

Frankly speaking, I can relate to you in many ways especially when it comes to just being myself, I have lots of naysayers around to belittle me. That is why I love your honest remarks you have to say about this kind of people. In real life I can't say anything bad back to them because I just don't know how to be mean. But writing them down in your blog while not revealing the person's identity is a brilliant thing to do.

Keep updating your blog yeah...:)) Looking forward for more...and yeah I am Noor by the way..:)
Born and bred in Malaysia but an Indian by blood..:))

  9. . ello noor! your comment MADE my day! honestly! ive been having a terrible day, so it was completely awesome to see!

    . REALLY!

. i have read all of chetan's works barring 2 states, and i must say, i dont like his writing one bit. because in my opinion, its not informed or sophisticated at all. have you ever read a r.k. narayan? you should! funnily enough, i have not read ONE humourous indian author. i wish i could, but it seems like grit and melancholy are the only 2 things we're good at!

. whoa! my own book? you think im THAT good?

. aw. adoh. ok, before i make it sound like i poop rainbows for breakfast and linner, i should let you know i am also very prone to negative thoughts and depression. which is why i avoid blogging when im upset, because i wish not to tell people moody sad things. now i have a REASON to not blog when im unhappy!

. Aw. same here. but i fear that sometimes people might misconstrue who they're meant for!

. thank you very much for all those positive comments Noor. you really turned my frown upside down!

    A!
ps. do comment where you feel like it. i love comments!
